MAY 22-24, 2004 - SOUTH WATERS HOSTS MUTYA NG PILIPINAS 2004
South Waters Country club and Farm was the site of the 2004 Mutya ng Pilipinas beauty pageant. Swimsuit competition was held at the Club’s swimming pool. Other activities of the beautiful candidates included Helicopter riding, Partying at Bon Fire/Luau white sand areas.
More than 40 beautiful Filipinas from all over the country vied for the coveted crown.

TV screenings were held at Riverside Hall, South Waters Country Club and Farm, Inc
March 17-19, 2000 - PHILIPPINE HOBIE CHALLENGE 2000
The Millenium Celebration at South Waters Marina Country Club and Farm, Inc was highlighted by the Philippine Hobie Challenge 2000, an international regatta of standard Hobie 16 catamaran sailboats that started its first leg of the race at South Waters and the last leg ended in Boracay. The eight day race brought sailors from several countries to some of the most scenic islands in the country.
Participants in the Hobie challenge 2000 include Mike Scantlebury and Douglas Hansen-Luke from Hong Kong (overall winners), Richard Wald, Peter Foster and James Peyton of United Kingdom. The Philippines was represented by Rex Puentespina, Mark Haswell, Jill Novera and Rannie Lavina. Other competitors were Phil Sawyer and Dave Silvester of Papua New Guinea, Chris Steilberg, Tony and Janet Stearns, Stefan Heitman and Leonie Duson. Another festivity highlight was the Remote Control Sailboat competition. Sailors, while standing on terra firma, maneuvered their sailboats in one of the several fishponds of South Waters Country Club. The competition was organized primarily and participated by the Manila Yacht Club members together with South Waters members as well. It was Commodore Mike Soza of the Manila Yacht Club who took first prize followed by Peter Capotosto while Alvin SIntoco took third place. The Spirit of ’67 Band, an all Atenean executive band where South Waters President Jose T.L. Morato sometimes plays along with, provided the music and entertainment during the celebration. Together with Maso Diez, one of the country’s top female vocalists, a kick off party was held on the eve of the Hobie Challenge 2000. |
