In optimizing the use of our land, the concept behind South Waters provides a model for all entrepreneurs wanting to venture in the leisure industry and at the same time provide dignified livelihood for our people.

THE FIRST OF A KIND CLUB

 

Since 1992, South Waters Country Club and Farm is a first of its kind. It is a leisure membership club as well a commercial aqua culture farm, vegetable gardens plus fruit gardens.

Located in Lucena City, the capital of Quezon Province, South Waters is an eco-friendly Country Club Resort destination with a unique ecological and environment concept and its right at the tip of Lucena’s main avenue – Quezon Avenue where the seat of government is located, and across the Governor’s mansion – with the Railway station just behind this healthy facility.

 

The Country Club operates its own commercial scale aqua culture farms and vegetable gardens supplying food and beverage to in-house outlets. Food served by its restaurant comes directly from the club’s farms. “Our aqua culture product such as prawns, shrimps, milkfish, lapu-lapu and crabs are produced in commercial quantities and is a stand alone business in itself. Our excess products are sold at a nearby Dalahican fish port, which is a cove and a half away from the club. Most of the club’s production is bought on the spot by the buyers who supply most hotels and restaurants of Metro Manila”, said Jose Pepito Morato, the Club President.

 

The most important aspect of South Waters is its incorporation of food production in commercial quantities that addresses our nation’s concerns on Food security while packaging it into a proprietary leisure country club setting and facility. “We believe that all leisure clubs should replicate this idea as this has a tremendous impact on the important social aspects of the nation’s Food Security Programs. The income we receive from farm production goes back to the club and is used for proper maintenance and operations. Plus, only 20% of our total production is consumed by the country club members and guests or visitors, while 80% sold at the market place adds to the volume and availability of food at the marketplace”, says Morato.

 

The Majestic Mount Banahaw provides free flowing water through a water vein that is 485 feet underground. This indeed is a wonderful resource for considering Mount Banahaw is 35 kilometers away and as one recent American visitor expressed, they purchase Mt. Banahaw water by gallons as it is the best water for skin and facial care & anti-aging, avoiding wrinkles in the face. “Over here, one can just drop into our swimming pool or keep taking showers and stay young, Morato adds.

 

The suites and family cabanas provides a comfortable home-away from-home as members and guest enjoy the different club amenities such as jet-skiing, fishing, crabbing, remote controlled sailing, tennis, beach volleyball, basketball or island hopping. The club’s marina provides our members with boat facilities that can take them to nearby islands for further recreation. Our club’s inland waterways and lagoons as well as crabbing and fishing ponds are available to families who prefer to stay within the club area. Horseback riding and golf carting is another fun-filled feature available within the club facility – Plus, just simply walking/jogging thru its orchards walkways and/or mini zoo.
